Ace Hardware Sale Friday after TGiving = Good Tools Low Cost!
I fix everything from kids toys to overhauling / refurbishing aircraft. I have MAC and Snap-on tools......
But I also buy a lot of stuff from my local ACE Hardware. The have big sales with rebates after TGiving....well worth it...but you must do the rebate....end up paying about 25% of retail in the end....for some very nice hand tools. I've been doing this for years. Their Professional Series of end wrenches and sockets....are as nice a MAC/Snap-on....really well made, attention to detail....not clubs...and I need good wrenches that fit into tight spots (Aircraft suck 10X worse than cars for tight spots). You can often get a 10 - 15 set of wrenches for the cost of a single MAC/Snap-on......and they are guaranteed for life. Keep an eye open and stock up. Great way to prep and convert FRN to intrinsic value...and they make good barter items. You can't have too many tools. |

Yes, you can find all store loactions online. All stores have the sale ...nationwide. Everyone I know calls me Macgiver. I'm make a lot of stuff from scratch. i love it when my scratch made stuff looks like it was factory made and people ask where did I buy it.... It's like there is this super cheap little old jewish man deepo inside me....If I can save money and build a skill to keep my mind entertained....I'll do it from scratch. That means lots of tools and lots of skills....this has all paid for itself many times over throught the years. I have to think TN Andy is exactly the same...... And in the back of my head...for 20 years or more....I figured this would be useful in a SHTF....I've been preping my entire life. You get that way growing up around Flint.....the alarms went off here 30 years ago....the rest of the country has been on snooze for 3 decades. I'm a product of my environment. My father can repair anything from TV and radios to cars to very advanced aircraft electronic systems.....there is nothing he can't repair....I have never met a better mechanic or electronics technician in my entire life. Fabricating in metals and welding/bending/forming/shaping....there are the most useful hands on skills I have ever developed. You mind and the ability to look, think, solve, improvise is the best skill.....everything else is just hardware to help you get the job done. It's not that hard...but you have to start somewhere to get these skills. But mostly.....I was motivated by frugality. I am one frugal bastard.....that is different from being cheap. |
